Franking Machine Retirement Package. Back in 1983 IBM PC’s were just appearing in the office, albeit mainly green screens and used for accounting purposes. Office productivity software didn’t get released until later (Word / Excel etc) In the early 1980’s Neopost and other companies, launched the worlds first truly “Electronic Franking Machines" (EFM’s) into the market. Mechanical gears and levers were a thing of the past. Today the only place you’ll find one of the first PC’s is probably in the Sydney Powerhouse Museum. However, many EFM’s have lasted the distance and are still in use today, unfortunately keeping them going is getting harder, parts are no longer made. Retire your EFM with GBC Australia and we’ll pay for the first month’s rental on a brand new technology “IJ” Ink Jet series.
